Diablo III Pushed Back Again

diablo iii

The fact that the release of Diablo III has been anticipated for years now is no mystery to the gaming community.  The game was slated for release in March of this year, but a new statement from Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime, reveals that the game is being pushed into the Q2 2012 period.  The game has taken a long time for release because the developers have been weeding out every bug and tweaking the game engine to ensure a quality release, but impatient gamers haven’t been too happy about it.

BlizzCon delayed until 2013!

Blizzard has decided to scrape this year’s BLIZZCON convention.  Put simply, the company said that “In light of our jam-packed schedule, we’ve decided to hold the next BlizzCon in 2013.”  Instead they are going to increase their focus on the world championships this year, as well as getting the three games they are developing out to the gamers who are desperate to play these games.  There is still no release date as of yet for Starcraft 2, Heart of the Swarm, or Diablo III.  There is actually more news that Blizzard is making some heavy changes to Diablo III, which means it is being delayed even more!

At first I was very upset to hear that BlizzCon is being delayed until 2013, but when it comes down to it, it is probably a great idea.  There is still going to be the world championships, which is set to take place Asia (which, you know, is an entire continent, so who knows where in that continent the championships will actually be) and being able to watch Starcraft 2 championships is going to be freaking awesome!

No BlizzCon for 2012

Remember the ridiculously long and multiplied announce dates for StarCraft 2? Well, Blizzard kind of has that right, making sure their products are perfect before shipping them to the fans. After all, any fan of a Blizzard game will tell you what about the place it holds in their heart.

Blizzard has announced that there will be no BlizzCon for 2012. For those of you who don’t know, BlizzCon is the annual Blizzard Convention showcasing their three internationally successful real-time strategy games, StarCraft, WarCraft, and Diablo, and also World of Warcraft. The company has released information that their focus, drive, and attention needs to be placed in a much more important place, the making of StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm and Diablo III. Obviously all you nerds are probably pretty upset right about now, right?
