Assassin’s Creed Franchise Comes to a Close in October… Maybe

Bringing a close to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed 3 has been given an official release date.  Ubisoft has announced the title’s release on October 30th of this year.  Fans can get ready for what Ubisoft is calling its “biggest launch in… history”.

Assassin’s Creed has maintained a release a year, and the main story line involving Desmond Miles comes to a close in October, but Ubisoft only plans on ending that story arc and slowing development (ie yearly releases) of the franchise.  This shows that the developer still plans to create Assassin’s Creed titles in the future.  One setting I would like to play the game in is industrial Britain ~1750–Oliver Twist gets revenge!

Sequel to Kingdoms of Amalur Discussed

Quickly becoming one of the most talked about and popular western RPGs, Kingdoms of Amalur is racking itself up a reputation.  Topping the sales charts in the UK, and getting high scoring reviews across the board, KoA ain’t doin’ too bad.  The game boasts one of the best gameplay systems on the market, and looks like it could rival Skyrim in terms of popularity, but it has the edge of being an original IP that is creating a solid fan base.

Know Where You Want to Go

Diversity will be key on a second play-through of Skyrim; it would be boring to do the same thing twice.  Get out of a comfort zone and shoot for being a thief or dark mage this time around instead of a warrior.  It is a good idea to pick a new direction and focus the hero’s attributes based on that selection.  The best way to focus a hero in Skyrim is to decide on an end result and let that guide his direction.

The fact that the release of Diablo III has been anticipated for years now is no mystery to the gaming community.  The game was slated for release in March of this year, but a new statement from Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime, reveals that the game is being pushed into the Q2 2012 period.  The game has taken a long time for release because the developers have been weeding out every bug and tweaking the game engine to ensure a quality release, but impatient gamers haven’t been too happy about it.
