THQ to Publish Innovative Leisure
The company follows Blackley’s philosophy of positioning mobile games as the new arcade, with dollar purchases being the new quarters. Already, the company has employed 30 developers, including some of Atari’s former giant developers, like Ed Logg (Centipede and Asteroids), Ed Rotberg (Battlezone), and many others.
THQ’s investment allows the publisher first refusal rights, but if THQ decides not to publish one of the new mobile games, Innovative Leisure is free to approach other publishers or self-publish the games.
This news comes fresh on the heels of THQ’s financial troubles.
