BlizzCon delayed until 2013!
Blizzard has decided to scrape this year’s BLIZZCON convention. Put simply, the company said that “In light of our jam-packed schedule, we’ve decided to hold the next BlizzCon in 2013.” Instead they are going to increase their focus on the Battle.net world championships this year, as well as getting the three games they are developing out to the gamers who are desperate to play these games. There is still no release date as of yet for Starcraft 2, Heart of the Swarm, or Diablo III. There is actually more news that Blizzard is making some heavy changes to Diablo III, which means it is being delayed even more!
At first I was very upset to hear that BlizzCon is being delayed until 2013, but when it comes down to it, it is probably a great idea. There is still going to be the battle.net world championships, which is set to take place Asia (which, you know, is an entire continent, so who knows where in that continent the championships will actually be) and being able to watch Starcraft 2 championships is going to be freaking awesome!
Another great bonus to this is that maybe this will push Blizzard to releasing Heart of the Swarm and Diablo III even sooner. We will find out in the next few months as Blizzard is not yet announcing when BlizzCon will actually take place next year, or even when the Battle.net championships will be, except that they will be held in the later part of this year. Just as long as the championship will take place before the supposed end of the world, that is fine by me.
