SINE MORA to Be XBLA Exclusive

Sine Mora logoDigital Reality and co-developer Grasshopper Manufacturer Inc. announced today that Microsoft Studios will publish their revolutionary shmup, Sine Mora.

No release date has been announced, but we do know a little about the game so far.

Like all air-based shmups (shoot-’em-up), the game will feature several planes, a screen full of projectiles, and no time to think. The game features a total of 60 combinations of planes, characters, and special weapons. These special weapons give Sine Mora its key distinguishing feature, time manipulation.

Not much is known about how the time manipulation will work in the game, but we do know that it is the key gameplay feature. Also, the game will switch the perspective from the standard top-down view to a more fluid visual presentation for modern gamers.

The game will feature two play modes, a story mode (which promises to be completely unbelievable and corny, like all good shmups) and an arcade mode (for more casual play). The stages will feature scaling difficulty to ease players in and punish them towards the end.

Finally, the score has been written by Akira Yamaoka of Shadows of the Damned and Silent Hill fame.

Again, no word on price or release date, but this is more information than you knew before, right?
