Will this be a Square-Enix blast or bomb?

2011 has not been a good year for Square-Enix. Its only worthwhile title all year has been Deus Ex: Human Revolution, a critical and commercial success, but if you look at their releases from earlier in the year, it’s hard to have faith in the Final Fantasy company.

Hopefully 2012 will change that with the currently announced titles.

But one of the most interesting is Heroes of Ruin for the Nintendo 3DS.

Imagine crossing the pretend customization of Borderlands with its loads of weapons and the radomized dungeons and loot grabs of Diablo. Then, put it in 3D and slap some multiplayer trading, and you get the upcoming Heroes of Ruin.

I really want this title to succeed, but my better judgement tells me that it will be largely ignored.

FINAL WORD: Interesting
